Thesis Exhibition

A graduate student in the school of fine arts is taking a different approach to terrorism. She explores social and global ramifications of what it's like to live in age of terrorism..
Reporter Kristina Matsalak found out how the artist is trying to bring awareness through her work.

UM News Show

This week, UM Maroon Team reporters found out what the University is doing to prepare for the flu season.  Reporters also discovered that UM is lacking scholarships for foreign students.  Amy Quinlivan and Kristina Matsalak anchored the show. Brittany Wooley produced and Ava Shearer directed the newscast.

 The Kyi-Yo Native American Student Association is raising money for this year's Pow Wow event in tasty way. Pow Wow attracts native American tribes from the community each year.

Director of Counseling at UM says mental health is the number one problem on campus. The Curry Health Center organized the Blue Couch event to help students talk out their problems.

Hellgate Rollergirls

Some UM students found fun and a unique way to stay fit and have fun. Hellgate Roller girls league helps couple UM students to learn skating techniques like how to properly block an opponent and recover from a fall. In order to get to a team each member should pass four scrimmages to prove their skating skills to an organizing committee. Reporter Kristina Matsalak and photographer Keith Hensley attended one of the practices at the warehouse.

Field Research Station at Fort Missoula

Field Research station at Fort Missoula is a facility within Division of Biological Sciences at the University of Montana. Place serves as a lab for students to experiment and research. Students who are doing a research project are working at Fort Missoula day and night on their projects.
Reporter Kirstina Matsalak found out how research projects are working out for some students.



Belly Dance

University of Montana offers a belly dance for all students who are interested to stay in shape and have throughout the semester. Experienced belly dance instructor won several awards and shares her experience with her students.
Reporter Kristina Matsalak attended the class to experience the atmosphere of an ancient dance.




Self defense class for women

UM offers a class in self-defense that teaches women to fight back against an attacker. Reporter Kristina Matsalak and photographer Ava Shearer found the techniques that allow women to overpower a larger opponent without needing superior strength.
