About Me

Hello everyone! Thanks for visiting my blog page!
As you probably have noticed my name is Kristina Matsalak. I am from Kazakhstan. I have Russian heritage. Currently I am finishing my BA in Broadcast Journalism from University of Montana. I also have degree in International Law from Karaganda State University, Kazakhstan. I love to study and explore new opportunities. When I was in high school, I remembered how my mother always dreamed to send me to college in United States. I didn't believe that such an opportunity will fall into my hands thanks to government scholarship called "Bolashak".
Now after living and studying in US for four years I am happy to say that I had accomplished my mom's dream. I am proud to film, shoot, produce and anchor stories for Radio-Television Department at University of Montana. I am hoping to apply to graduate school and continue learn art of journalism. Yes, I do call my profession an art because it requires huge dedication, time, and time commitment. Being in another country and completely alone requires big self-confidence. I learned to leave on my own and depend only on myself. Of course I had tough times adjusting to culture and people mentality, but I got it fast. I have very optimistic views on things and always up for challenges!

I enjoy living in US. I truly think this is the country of Free Speech and Opportunities!
